Collins Aerospace is looking to hire Machine Shop Technician - Mill Turn; r eporting to the Weekend Night Shift Machine Shop Supervisor, as the Machine Shop Technician - Mill Turn, you will produce aircraft parts to drawing while operating machines in the cell.
Work Location : Oakville Facility, Ontario – Canada
Shift Hours – Weekend Night – Friday - Sunday (6 : 00 p.m. – 6 : 00 a.m.)
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Perform own manual set-ups by positioning and aligning tooling per set-up instructions using CNC programming language (G codes).
Maintain tolerances by observing operation and making necessary machine offset adjustments, cutter changes and self-inspection (OSV-Operator Self Verification).
Document actions in support of quality logs, communicate all discrepancies in machining to supervision and create Product Defect Sheets (PDS) as required.
Perform work from set-up sheets, manufacturing sheets and drawings.
Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
Multi-task and operate other machines within the cell.
Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 6-8 weeks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS :
Typically requires High school diploma, with a minimum 3 to 5 years of Millturn and / or Mill / Lathe machining experience.
Experience utilizing measuring equipment in support of quality requirements
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
Experience with Renishaw probe and probe cycles.
The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate of Qualification (C of Q)
Verbal and written communication skills (English)
Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner
Willingness to train, multi-task and operate other machines in the cell
Experience with TMAC adaptive control
