Description

Job Summary:

Teledyne Technologies is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Buyer to join our IT department. As part of a small, dynamic team, you will play a key role in supporting technology procurement, ensuring the timely acquisition of IT assets, and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process and manage purchase requests through ticketing systems, ensuring prompt and accurate handling.
  • Respond to customer and supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.
  • Communicate order confirmations and shipping details to requestors and relevant stakeholders.
  • Contact suppliers in order to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other problems.
  • Review requisition orders in order to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, and reports.
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders.
  • Compiles information and records to prepare purchase orders for procurement of material.
  • Assign software licenses as requested, maintaining records and compliance.
  • Fulfill computer and software purchases in line with organizational standards and budget constraints.
  • Organize and report cost allocations for accounting and financial tracking purposes.
  • Manage the purchasing of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) products, including negotiating terms and completing contracts.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, including onboarding, contract management, and performance monitoring.
  • Solicit necessary approvals for purchases and contracts as per company policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for communication between requestors, vendors, and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in IT procurement or purchasing preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a small team environment.
  • Experience handling multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Previous experience in IT procurement or purchasing preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ticketing or procurement systems is an asset.

Salary Range:

$54,200.00-$72,300.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
