Nuclear’ s portfolio of building, refurbishing, maintaining, and decommissioning nuclear power facilities reflects a record of project success that ranges from small but essential maintenance contracts, to major construction endeavors. Aecon supports clients with expert project management to the most exacting standards.

Working with our joint venture partner Atkins Realis, Aecon Nuclear has been awarded the definition phase contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to assist in planning the Pickering Retube, Feeder and Boiler replacement (RFBR) project. This project involves the refurbishment of four reactors and replacement of the forty eight steam generators at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.

The Project Coordinator, reporting directly to the Project Manager, will play a key role in providing leadership in managing/supervising construction projects by assisting in the project management and coordination of schedules, manpower, customer relations, engineering, and procurement. Risk analysis, project forecasting, liaising with EPC and subcontractors are daily occurrences in these positions.

  • Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
  • Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.

  • Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
  • Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.
  • Writes and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
  • Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures
  • Tracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.
  • Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to SGR team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy. Endeavor the feedback to be in person wherever possible.

What You'll Do Here:

  • Technical (Engineering or Engineering Technology) education.
  • 5+ years of engineering and/or construction project experience.
