During your 12 to 16month Civil Division C oop you will be involved in various p roject ma nagement d uties . You will assist a Project Management Team in various tasks pertaining to the job site including planning organiz ing and supporting project execution works; f rom negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to providing support with work methods. You will also develop and suggest improvements to design standards advi se and solve complex design and engineering issues on site . Th is coop opportunity aims to provide exposure to construction estimation on site project management and temporary works engineering / review . Candidates will be required to report to various civil project sites in Ontario along with the EBC Mississauga Corporate Office.

RESPONS I BILIT IES

Monitor works daily through the technical and administrative tasks assigned to you .

Plan and oversee works coordination with foremen surveyors superintendents engineers project managers and subcontractors .

Prepare and follow up on technical issues in plans and specifications .

Prepare monitor analyze and manage subcontract or files .

Contribute to contract negotiations when necessary .

Contribute to project schedul ing .

Obtain permits and authorizations required to carry out work s .

Plan and check material orders as needed .

Assist review and communicate technical questions and change requests to the customer representative and followup when required .

Plan supervise and contribute to the development of appropriate construction methods and processes per contractual requirements while respecting current health and safety requirements . This can include the review and design of temporary construction engineering.

Participate in site meetings with various project stakeholders .

Follow up and manage deficiencies at the end of the project (if applicable) .

Complete quantity takeoffs from project specifications and drawings and ultimately provide cost estimates for various scopes of work.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

B achelor s degree in Civil Engineering ( or similar ) in progress .

Relevant experience in engineering or construction means and methods is an important asset .

A d rivers license and / or ability to travel may be required in some cases.
