Job Title : HVAC Technician
Job Description
We specialize in installing air conditioning and heating systems in residential and commercial buildings. Our HVAC / R Technician uses their attention to detail and industry knowledge to install refrigeration and air conditioning products into new construction. This role takes pride in quality of work and ensures that all installations are clean, neat, and accurate. The HVAC / R Technician will also be responsible for service work from time to time for residential and commercial spaces. With experience in the industry, this role will help mentor and shape our apprentices towards their Red Seal ticket.
Responsibilities
- Utilize industry knowledge and experience to install and repair refrigeration and air conditioning components on new construction and custom home jobs.
- Ensure work spaces are left clean and organized, especially when working in custom home environments.
- Train and coach apprentices on how to install and repair refrigeration and air conditioning units, including referencing industry codes and standards.
- Support and motivate the team in a positive manner with a continuous improvement attitude.
- Maintain transparent communication with HVAC / R Supervisor, including providing job status, installation progress, materials needed to be ordered, site updates, etc.
- Perform installation and repair of refrigeration and air conditioning components on new construction and custom home job sites.
- Start up systems, test for leaks using testing devices, recharge systems with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate systems, and perform routine maintenance or servicing.
- Strategically plan, layout, and measure fittings by reading blueprints carefully while working with Sheet Metal Foreman to execute jobs.
- Utilize HVAC / R experience to coach, motivate, and assign technicians as needed on new construction, custom homes, and tenant improvement jobs.
- Gather proposals, labor and material costs, and provide both numerical and descriptive information on jobs.
- Collect materials and equipment from wholesalers when needed, as per job requirements.
- Complete administrative paperwork for jobs as needed.
- Respond to vendors and developers on job sites when necessary, including HVAC / R Supervisor where needed.

Work Environment
You will be working on various new construction builds, including projects in Maple Ridge, Surrey, Langley, and an upcoming project in Vancouver next year. The current focus is on low-rise apartment buildings, with plans to expand into high-rise construction. Occasional commercial work is also part of the role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00
