MAKING AN IMPACT
The Bilingual HR Generalist provides front-line HR guidance to employees and people leaders, advising on policies, legislation, and programs while supporting day-to-day employee relations and escalating recurring themes or risks to the HR Business Partners. The role also partners with HR Specialists to deliver core HR programs across the employee lifecycle, including improving onboarding, coordinating exit processes, conducting or facilitating exit interviews, and sharing trends to inform retention and workforce planning. In addition, the Bilingual HR Generalist coordinates and administers workplace accommodation requests—ensuring documentation, implementation, and ongoing monitoring—and supports full-cycle talent acquisition activities such as sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer negotiation, while coordinating onboarding and coaching hiring managers on effective selection practices.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

  • Front-Line HR Advisory Support
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees and people leaders on routine HR matters, policies, and procedures
  • Provides guidance and practical advice on the interpretation and execution of HR policies, legislation, and programs (such as performance and talent management, compensation, workforce planning, employee relations, employee engagement etc.).
  • Support leaders with day‑to‑day employee relations matters, including attendance concerns, informal conflict resolution, and performance feedback
  • Participate in employee relations discussions, fact‑finding, or meetings at the direction of an HR Business Partner
  • Monitor and flag recurring themes or emerging risks for HRBP review
  • HR Operations and Program Delivery
  • Partner with HR Specialists to support the end‑to‑end delivery of core HR programs across the employee lifecycle, ensuring consistency, compliance, and a positive employee experience
  • Coordinate and support employee exit processes, including conducting or facilitating exit interviews in alignment with established practices
  • Summarize exit interview themes and insights and share trends with HR leadership to inform retention, engagement, and workforce planning efforts
  • Monitor adherence to HR processes and flag exceptions, risks, or inconsistencies to HR Business Partners for review
  • Support HR process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives—including onboarding and orientation—by identifying gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities to strengthen program delivery, consistency, and the employee experience aligned with operational priorities
  • Accommodation and Leave Management
  • Coordinate and administer the accommodation process for employees requiring workplace accommodations, including intake, documentation, tracking, and follow‑up
  • Guide employees and people leaders through the procedural aspects of accommodation requests and implementation
  • Ensure accommodation plans are documented, reviewed, and monitored for ongoing effectiveness
  • Support leaders in implementing approved accommodations and monitoring day‑to‑day impacts
  • Escalate complex, sensitive, or high‑risk accommodation cases to the HR Business Partner for assessment, decision‑making, or legal consultation
  • Act as the point of contact for employees on leave-related inquiries including but not limited to; eligibility, application and ensuring timely support.
  • Collect and validate required documentation and submit claims to disability provider for decision
  • Communicate with disability provider to obtain claim decision and clarify case details and act as a facilitator between employees, their leaders and disability provider
  • In partnership with the HRBP, provide guidance to people leaders on handling leave requests, return to work planning, and accommodations.
  • Talent Acquisition
  • Support recruitment and selection activities for assigned roles. Oversees the full cycle recruitment process: directly involved in the various stages of the process including sourcing, screening, assessments, interviewing and offer negotiation.
  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation activities to support positive employee transitions
  • Collaborates with the hiring manager to prepare relevant interview questions and assessments for each position.
  • Coaches hiring managers on interviewing and candidate assessment techniques and assists them in the selection process by facilitating and participating in the interviews.
  • Contribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented, valued, and heard across all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of college diploma or other post-secondary program with a focus on HR is considered an asset
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience supporting leaders and employees across the employee lifecycle (employee relations, performance, onboarding/offboarding)
  • Completion of (or working towards) CHRP certification is preferred
  • Experience providing policy and employment standards guidance
  • Experience coordinating workplace accommodations and/or disability management processes (intake, documentation, follow-up, and stakeholder coordination) preferred
  • Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment and selection (job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer support) in partnership with hiring managers
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, ATS/HRIS systems
  • Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles; communicate with technical and non-technical users
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is required due to the organization’s nationwide operations and the need for effective communication across various regions
