Job description
Our Company is subject to the requirements of the Act respecting the protection of personal information. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Head of Manufacturing is responsible for the management and supervision of production activities. They will ensure the effective management of the team to guarantee the manufacturing of good quality products in accordance with standards, technical specifications, and customer requirements in an environment where health and safety are priorities. Acting as a vector of communication and mobilization to help the development of staff.
Responsibilities
Collaborate in effective production planning and make sure to have the necessary raw materials on hand to proceed with production.
Effectively monitor current production to achieve operational targets within the required time frame.
Organize and control the work of the production team. Manage the schedule, attendance, overtime, and punches of employees.
Mobilize production team around common objectives to ensure superior performance and a high retention rate.
Evaluate the performance of each member of the production team, provide positive reinforcement or address discrepancies as appropriate by carrying out rigorous monitoring to ensure that production objectives are achieved.
Responsible for building a culture oriented towards the health and safety of team members by maintaining a safe work environment and always ensuring the application and respect of safe work methods.
Validate labor costs and raw material usage against estimates and implement adjustments to ensure accuracy.
Collaborate with the quality department to investigate quality issues.
Work with process engineering, quality assurance and maintenance to implement product and process changes.
Collaborate in the installation and startup of new equipment.
Proactively plan equipment maintenance and repair with the maintenance department.
Contribute to the training and effective integration of new employees.
Contribute to the management and monitoring of inventory.
Work effectively with all departments to ensure that company goals and initiatives are achieved.
Requirements
Collegial training in operation management or relevant supervisor experience.
Minimum 5 years of experience in management or employee’s supervision in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Demonstrate leadership and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
Strong organization skills including the ability to prioritize.
