What does a Tactical Security Guard do in Edmonton?

  • Patrol and monitor high-risk areas such as shopping malls, healthcare facilities, construction sites, or event venues.
  • Address disputes or confrontations with professionalism and attempt to de-escalate tense situations.
  • Act as the first responder to incidents such as medical emergencies, fires, or security breaches.
  • Write detailed reports on incidents, activities, and observations during shifts.
  • Enforce site-specific rules, such as access control, ID verification, and restricted areas.
  • Assist Law Enforcer or emergency responders during arrests or investigations.
  • Use security cameras, access control systems, and other surveillance tools to identify and address suspicious activities.
  • Conduct regular patrols (on foot or in a vehicle) to ensure the site is secure.
  • Interact with clients, employees, and the public in a professional manner.

    • Qualifications, Skills and Experience for a Tactical Security Guard in Edmonton

  • Ability to handle tense situations calmly and professionally.
  • Clear verbal and written communication for incident reporting and interactions with the public.
  • Ability to identify suspicious activities or potential risks.
  • Valid provincial security guard license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Criminal justice or police foundations diploma is an asset
  • First aid and CPR certification is an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of Tactical security guard experience
  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Flexible availability
