Job Title : Fund Accountant
Location : Downtown Vancouver, BC
Salary : $60,000 - $65,000 per year
My client is seeking an experienced Fund Accountant to join their team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional looking to manage fund accounting, financial reporting, and compliance while supporting budgeting and audit processes.
Key Responsibilities :
Maintain and reconcile fund transactions, ensuring compliance with donor or grantor agreements.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for funds and programs.
Assist with fund-related audit preparation and regulatory filings.
Ensure fund disbursements align with donor restrictions and regulatory requirements.
Manage purchase orders (POs) in NetSuite to ensure pending approvals and billings are resolved in a timely manner.
Review and process invoices, ensuring accurate coding and that all supporting documentation is saved in NetSuite.
Prepare accounts payable (AP) accruals and manage AP coding and invoice entry.
Handle petty cash management and monitor fund transactions for accuracy.
Support month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Collaborate with program managers to provide financial insights and ensure accurate tracking of funds.
Qualifications & Experience :
3-5 years of fund accounting experience, preferably in a not-for-profit environment.
Strong knowledge of fund accounting principles, including donor restrictions and grant accounting.
Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite experience is a plus).
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication skills for working with non-financial stakeholders.
CPA is not required, but extensive relevant experience is preferred.

Proficiency in accounting software (experience with NetSuite or similar systems is a plus).
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
CPA designation is not required, but candidates with extensive relevant experience will be preferred.
