Regional Field Production Advisor

As an Area Field Production Advisor, you are a vital member of the Area Field Production Mission team, directly involved in executing field production crop plans. Your role supports optimizing field production processes, ensuring seamless mission execution, and enhancing overall team efficiency through Operations Discipline. Daily tasks will vary with objectives to enhance operational excellence and build high-trust relationships with growers and field service providers.

This is a 12-18 month position based out of Cranbrook, BC, working at field sites in the area, and office area during winter months.

What you will do:

  • Collaborate with Field Production Missions to plan and coordinate all operational field activities;
  • Ensure timely and efficient execution of production plans, aligning with mission objectives;
  • Provide support for all crops within the field production region;
  • Build strong relationships with growers and field service providers to understand the needs for executing crop plans and field activities;
  • Monitor field activities including planting, pesticide applications, and harvest; GPS mapping production fields, conduct field inspections and supervise rouging activities;
  • Implement best practices to improve production of reliable quality seed while meeting yield targets;
  • Optimize resource allocation for field production, including personnel, equipment, and materials;
  • Streamline field production processes to enhance overall efficiency through Operational Discipline;
  • Champion quality control measures in field production, ensuring adherence to quality standards;
  • Analyze operational data to track performance and identify areas for improvement;
  • Work closely with Field Production Agronomists and Field Operational Specialists to align production strategies with agronomic goals;
  • Support end-to-end financial processes related to field production, including grower accounting, accounts payable, and invoice processing.

Who you are:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Valid Driver's License;
  • Ability to work during days, weekends, and overtime as business needs require;
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 60 lbs. (a bag of seed);
  • 25% travel expected during peak season.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of applicable experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business, Operations Management; or a related field and a minimum of 3 years of applicable experience
  • Proven experience in agricultural operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities

The base salary range for this role is between $89,520 and $134,280. Additional compensation may include a bonus or incentive compensation. Additional benefits may include insured benefits such as health care, vision, dental, disability, and contributory retirement savings plans, etc.

This salary range is an estimate and may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, market data and the applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, job-related knowledge, specific degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors. This role is posted for a vacant position.
