The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Hardware Designer to join our team! This position is based in our Ottawa, ON office, which is a requirement to ensure collaboration with the broader team.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional with expertise in both electrical and mechanical design and development. They excel at collaborating with cross-functional teams to refine and enhance product designs. Their resourcefulness and strong problem-solving mindset enable them to tackle challenges with innovative solutions.
As a Hardware Designer, you’ll be a vital contributor to the design, prototyping, debug, testing, integration and installation activities of legacy and new products.
You will :
- Complete hardware (electrical and mechanical) design and development tasks in a timely fashion as assigned by the Engineering Manager or their delegate.
- Create (design, development, prototyping and debugging) hardware and production test solutions while mindful of cost, production and service constraints.
- Maintain documentation for existing products.
- Document design process (parameters, calculations, etc.) and the production of required product and quality system documentation.
- Participate in design reviews.
- Provide Service and Sales support as required.
- Provide system integration, troubleshooting and support as required.
- Ensure adherence to quality system development processes and standards.
