This role sits within Laurentian Bank.
Participates in the development of credit risk assessment models for use in calculating loan-loss provisions and in the credit granting processes. Makes recommendations regarding adjustment of the models for use with the credit portfolios held by the Bank and its subsidiaries.
Also analyzes and tracks the performance of credit risk control and quantification models, processes and strategies. Participates actively in the design and use of reports and systems for improving credit risk monitoring and analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develops quantitative risk assessment models and credit-decision automation strategies to improve operational efficiency and support business development within the Bank’s risk appetite framework.
- Proposes adjustments and updates to risk assessment methods as needed, while maintaining consistency and the balance between business needs, risk management and compliance with risk management requirements and best practices.
- Works on the implementation of the developed tools developed and conducts the ongoing analysis required to show that they are performing well.
- Produces analytics, interprets data, explains variances and assesses what their possible implications for the Bank’s results.
- Participates in projects and assignments with potentially significant impacts on the Bank’s profitability and efficiency.
- Works jointly and closely with the following teams : business lines, marketing, product management, credit, finance, collections and operations.
