At Stantec, we know the work we do matters. From decarbonizing mines to modernizing electric grids and building the infrastructure that fuels communities, we’re powering the world. Our clients come to us with their biggest, most complex challenges because that’s where we thrive. And we’re looking for problem solvers, high achievers, and visionaries to help us.

Join us for a chance to grow professionally at one of the world’s top design firms while building our clean energy future.

This role can be based in any Energy & Resources (E&R) office location in our Eastern Canada Region. The position requires regular in-office presence in support of our flexible work practice and will likely require travel to a variety of offices throughout Eastern Canada.

We encourage you to review the full opportunity. Please apply with a letter of interest that shares your qualifications, interest and vision for the role.

Your Opportunity

As a director-level leader, the BCPL functions as a people leader and technical leader in our Business Center (BC), bridging our business operations and technical execution. E&R is organized into a WIN-DO-MANAGE structure. The BCPL will sit in the MANAGE pillar (the BC) but hold primary responsibility for leading collaboration with the DO pillar (technical execution). The BCPL inspires teams, drives technical practice excellence with support from our Technical Practice Leaders (TPLs), Project Managers (PMs), and Project Technical Leads (PTLs) and holds teams accountable in support of exceptional project delivery. The BCPL reports to the Regional Business Leader (RBL) and is a partner to the BC Operations Leader (BCOL) to reinforce the brand of Stantec while helping our clients, colleagues, and communities thrive. As the prime leader within the Business Center (BC) for engineering and technical services, this position acts as the main point of contact for engineering execution and technical issues. You will lead a multi-discipline team consisting of engineers, technologists, and technical support personnel.

The primary focus for the BCPL will be leading the development and deployment of our technical delivery teams that deliver engineering, design, and project delivery excellence, with high levels of collaboration and coordination with our Canada/US based Delivery Center and our Global Delivery Center. You will manage and steward continuous improvements in quality, optimizing work processes as well as ensuring the financial viability of the business center through stewarding the blend of technical resources to execute projects efficiently. This includes responsibility for the development of engineering work practices while providing direction and leadership to the engineering disciplines to ensure successful integration with the entire business center and business line leadership team.

This position will be responsible for our Mining technical teams in Eastern Canada and will work closely with peers from across E&R to lead technical delivery for our BC. As this position will work closely with the Business Center Operations Leader, it will ideally be located in Eastern Canada.
