THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Professional to join a dynamic organization. The candidate will be responsible for supporting a growing IT infrastructure, enhancing IT security measures, and implementing and continually improving IT project systems. The ideal candidate should be proficient in crafting policies and procedures, conducting security audits, and implementing processes. They should also have strong organizational and training skills within a dynamic IT environment and be experienced in ArcGIS Enterprise server administration. This role will involve traveling to various locations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support and Maintenance
- Deliver technical support both onsite and remotely as required.
- Ensure the upkeep and functionality of servers, printers, and other hardware.
- Manage photocopiers, printers, scanners, and other IT leases to ensure seamless operations.
- Maintain the Kantech security and door access system to ensure secure and controlled access.
- Provide network orientation and tutorials when required.
- Provide training and educational updates for staff.
- Perform other related duties as identified.
Configuration and Setup
Procure, set up user profiles, and configure servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, printers, and other necessary hardware and software.Develop and enforce procedures for network and internet database access, usage, and the backup and recovery of data.Establish and recommend procedures and standards for data administration to ensure consistency and reliability.Vendor Coordination and Infrastructure Management
Collaborate with vendors for the repair, maintenance, and installation of technology infrastructure components, including on-premises and cloud services, switches, servers, firewalls, and server room components.Act as the main point of contact for users and vendors to resolve system access and performance issues.Maintain the availability and support of the existing LAN / WAN network infrastructure through continuous configuration, maintenance, and monitoring.Recommend future upgrades or capital replacements as required.Participate in researching, planning, evaluating, and recommending new technologies.Perform project management work that ensures future development of IT implementations for the organization.Security and Performance Monitoring
Oversee IT assets and licensing inventory, patching, mobile device management (MDM), and ensure comprehensive network and system security against malware, ransomware, and other threats.Monitor and evaluate server performance and utilization, taking corrective actions as needed to maintain optimal performance.Regularly test and verify backup, disaster recovery plans (DRP), and restore systems to ensure data protection and business continuity.Conduct server security audits and risk assessments, providing recommendations to enhance security and mitigate risks.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new and converging technologies, making recommendations for improved server performance, availability, and security.QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of a two-year Technical Diploma in Computer Science or a related field.At least two years of relevant experience in client service and support, with a focus on hardware and software installation and troubleshooting.Proficient in Microsoft Desktop & Server Operating Systems, MS Active Directory, Office365, and SQL Database Management Systems.Prior experience in network security, TCP / IP, and VPN technologies is preferred.Experience with Sophos Firewall and related network security equipment.Experienced with server hardware (e.g., Dell, HPE), server virtualization technologies (e.g., VMWare, Hyper-V), as well as server and storage technologies (e.g., NAS, MSA / SAN, iSCSI, Fibre Channel).Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP / Diamond Financial software is advantageous.Familiarity with GIS Systems (e.g., ESRI) is considered an asset.Ability to provide a 5-year driver's abstract.Must successfully complete a Criminal Records Check.KEY COMPETENCIES
