Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic

Location : Winnipeg, MB

Employment Type : Permanent, Full Time

Shift : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00am to 4 : 00pm

Summary :

The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and PDIs on a variety of equipment that is represented by JJE in a timely and effective manner.

This incumbent will be focused on Welding and fabrication in the service shop.

Signing Bonus :

  • 2,500.00 - Truck & Transport Mechanic OR Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Licensed
  • 1000.00 - Truck & Transport OR Heavy Duty Equipment Registered Apprentice

About You :

    • Position Requirements :

  • Journeyman technician or mechanic
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a shop environment with welding and fabrication
  • Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
  • Experienced with hydraulic and / or electrical work an asset

    • Position Responsibilities :

  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (pre-delivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and / or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools
