COMOX VALLEY — Looking for meaningful caregiving work with flexibility and great compensation? 💛 Approx. $56,000–$.../year in non-taxable compensation 💛 🌿 Lots of personal time during the week 🌿 About 3 weekends off each month 🌿 Meaningful work from your own home We are a small, family-led nonprofit looking for an experienced Caregiver / HCA / Support Worker to become a Home Share Provider for a warm, social middle-aged woman with cerebral palsy and a developmental disability. She loves people, has a great sense of humour, uses a walker at home and a wheelchair in the community. As her Home Share Provider, she would move into and share your home with you. You would support her with personal care, meals, mobility, transportation, appointments and everyday activities. 🏡 Your Home Your home must be located in the Comox Valley and have enough indoor space for her to safely use and manoeuvre her walker. A level-entry home is preferred, although she can manage 2–3 stairs with support and a secure railing. 🌿 Schedule & Personal Time She attends a day program Monday–Friday, so you would have most of your weekday daytime to yourself, with some time needed for appointments, meetings and administrative tasks. She also has regular respite weekends, giving you approximately three weekends off each month. This role requires flexibility and availability and must be your primary professional commitment. Could this be a good fit for you? We’re looking for someone who is: 💛 Patient, professional, dependable and organized 💪 Physically able to safely assist with mobility, personal care and day-to-day activities 🚗 A licensed driver with a reliable four-door vehicle 💻 Comfortable using a computer and managing basic admin, forms and documentation 🤝 An excellent communicator who works well with family and a support team ⭐ Independent and confident, with the ability to make sound decisions Relevant caregiving experience is required. Disability-support experience is strongly preferred, but experience in healthcare, home care, senior care, nursing or a related field will also be considered. This is an independent contractor position with a small family-led nonprofit and an established respite/support team.
