The Senior Manager, Fibre Engineering, will lead a team of network planners, technologists, and designers in planning Xplore's FTTP access and transport networks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of fibre networks, with a deep understanding of the technical and budgetary implications and trade-offs associated with design decisions. This role requires experience in project management, a strong understanding of fibre optic technology and telecommunications infrastructure, and the ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include :

• Lead the planning of Xplore's fibre access and transport networks
• Model, simulate and analyze available data to develop design-build assumptions, regional-specific recommendations, material forecasts, and overall project cost
• Use engineering framework to develop network design plans for FTTP deployments
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineering team, and manage the performance of direct reports
• Must be able to remain up to date with knowledge of current PON architecture, OSP design principles (GPON / FTTH, long-haul and HFW networks) and industry standards
• Ensure all engineering activities are performed in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations
• Maintain knowledge of technology in use and / or under development for its impact or potential impact on the FTTx access network
• Impart engineering knowledge and encourage the professional development of engineers and technical staff
• Provide Fibre Engineering support to Xplore Business, Network Strategy & Build and Business Development
• Work with the Xplore National Standards team to review and develop fttx architecture for capital effectiveness and network optimization
