Overview
You’re a civil engineering student who’s ready to get your hands on a real engineering project. You perform best in groups where you know what’s expected of you. You’re not afraid to ask questions. You make—and own—your decisions. You want to learn more about the design process, and how a team works together to get projects done.
Binnie is looking for an Engineering Assistant to join our growing Development Squamish Division, which provides professional services for local municipalities, multi-family housing projects, large subdivisions, recreational facilities, and major commercial and industrial developments.
This position is in our Squamish office, located in the heart of Sea to Sky country. Our Squamish office has been in operation for over 20 years, providing engineering and surveying services to the Lions Bay-Squamish-Whistler-Pemberton corridor. Our recent projects include working with various developers on large developments on complex hill-side terrain, as well as working with municipalities on infrastructure rehabilitation.
This position is for the May – Dec 2026 work-term, there may be an opportunity to extend the work term depending on project requirements.
Your Role
- Modifying basic design drawings in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Plotting, assembling, and delivering drawing submission packages
- Preparing project documentation including hard copy and electronic file transfers
- Maintaining file naming and layer management conventions set by Binnie
- Completing field assignments as required by Project Managers
- Completing quality control procedures
- Preparing and updating as-constructed field record drawings
