Position Overview Avenir Energy is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Manager to support employees across Western Canada and Quebec. Based in Calgary or Edmonton, this role focuses on providing direct HR execution and support, ensuring employee needs are met and aligned with the company’s operational objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with employees and leadership teams in the region, fostering a positive workplace culture and delivering practical HR solutions. This position requires a strong bilingual communicator (English and French) who can navigate the complexities of supporting diverse teams across multiple regions. Key Responsibilities Employee Support & Relations Act as the primary HR point of contact for employees in Western Canada and Quebec, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and programs. Address employee concerns, mediate conflicts, and foster a positive, productive work environment. Implement and maintain employee engagement initiatives to enhance satisfaction, morale, and retention. Recruitment & Onboarding Manage recruitment efforts for roles in the region, ensuring top talent is identified and onboarded effectively. Support hiring managers with job postings, candidate selection, and onboarding processes. Training & Development Coordinate and execute training programs to support employee growth and operational needs. Facilitate performance management processes, including coaching, performance reviews, and development planning. Compliance & Administration Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment laws and company policies across the supported regions. Maintain accurate employee records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance. Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures that align with company objectives and legal requirements. Compensation & Benefits Assist in managing regional compensation and benefits programs, ensuring they are competitive and meet employee needs. Provide employees with guidance and support in understanding and utilizing their benefits. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on hands-on execution and employee support. Bilingual (English and French) required. Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance in Western Canada and Quebec. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to build trust and foster positive relationships with employees and leadership.
