Description

Position Overview:

Linde is currently seeking an Instrument & Electrical Technician that will be based at our newly constructed industrial gas facility in Nederland, TX. This position will report to the site Maintenance Manager and will work with stakeholders to achieve plant reliability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as EAM/Procal work orders, service reports and equipment calibration records as required by standards and procedures.
  • Troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below).
  • Troubleshooting, calibration and maintenance of pneumatic, analog and digital process control instrumentation utilizing P&ID and Schematic wiring diagram.
  • Schedule and perform activities related to the operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, computer interfaces, and analytical equipment.
  • Support of startup / shutdown and operations of process plant equipment.
  • Process analytical equipment calibration and maintenance which may include: Thermal Conductivity, Gas Chromatograph, Electrolytic process analyzers.
  • Ensure spare parts are available or replaced when used/installed.
  • Use RCA methodology on failures and support plant reviews
  • Prepare and execute projects to improve facility availability and reliability
  • Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times.
  • Required to climb ladders, stairways and operate man-lifts for elevated instrumentation and control valve maintenance.
  • Schedule and Direct contractor activities in all related areas covered above when required.

This position requires a combination of office work and field work. The technician will support the operation of our facilities to ensure they are maintained in a safe, reliable and environmentally friendly manner. The job occasionally requires overtime and callouts on weekend, nights and holidays. Employee must be able to access elevated electrical and mechanical equipment via ladders, scaffolding and man-lifts. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to develop working relationships with maintenance and operations personnel in a team environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent combination of work experience and technical training required.

  • Associates degree from a technical school is desired.

  • At least 3+ years of related experience.

  • Proven understanding of regulatory and industrial standards and codes.

  • Proven understanding of control and instrumentation systems in industrial environment.

  • Proven experience in CMMS systems such as ProCal and Infor EAM (SAP, Maximo etc.).

  • Proven experience in computers and standard software packages (MS Office, E-Mail etc.).
