We are seeking a skilled and certified Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic to join a busy steel manufacturing and scrap metal recycling team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy machinery, specifically brands such as Komatsu, Liebherr, and Caterpillar (Cat). You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our equipment.
Position Title : Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic
Location : Surrey, BC
Job Type : Full-Time Permanent
Wage : $42-$52 / hr depending on experience
Schedule & Shift : Monday to Friday with OT on Saturdays; flexible morning start between 5 : 00 - 7 : 00 am
20% over time

Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair : Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy machinery, Caterpillar 769 C Rock Truck, Liebherr LH60, Caterpillar 336EL Excavator
Diagnostics : Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical issues and develop effective repair strategies.
Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure proper functionality.
Documentation : Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts inventory.
Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Team Collaboration : Work closely with other mechanics and support staff to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications
Certification : Valid Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with heavy equipment, specifically with Komatsu, Liebherr, and Cat machines.
Technical Skills : Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools, hand tools, and power tools.
Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex mechanical issues.
Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Stamina : Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in various weather conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
