Account Manager to lead and manage a key client account while also overseeing our in-house residential design clientele. This role blends
client relationship management, AutoCAD-based design coordination, and cost estimation within a custom millwork environment.
The ideal candidate brings a strong background in
millwork or cabinetry design, technical drafting (AutoCAD), project estimation, and customer-facing account management, ensuring seamless execution from concept through delivery.
Key Responsibilities1. Account Management & Client Relations- Serve as the primary point of contact for a major strategic client and all assigned residential design customers
- Build and maintain long-term relationships through proactive communication and excellent service
- Understand client requirements and translate them into actionable design and production plans
- Manage expectations, timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Handle client presentations, approvals, and follow-ups
2. Design & CAD Coordination- Produce and review detailed millwork drawings using AutoCAD
- Collaborate with internal design, engineering, and production teams to ensure accuracy and feasibility
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications into shop-ready drawings
- Support value engineering and design optimization to meet client budgets and timelines
- Ensure all designs meet company standards, building codes, and client expectations
3. Estimation & Costing- Prepare accurate project estimates, quotes, and proposals for millwork projects
- Analyze material, labor, and production costs
- Work with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure cost competitiveness
- Track project budgets and support margin control throughout project lifecycle
4. Project Coordination (alongside a Project Manager)- Act as the bridge between clients, designers, shop teams, and installers
- Monitor project schedules and ensure timely delivery and installation
- Identify and mitigate risks or issues throughout project execution
- Ensure change orders and revisions are properly documented and communicated
Work Environment- Combination of office-based (design and coordination) and occasional site visits
- Collaborative team setting with design, production, and installation teams
- Fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously

Requirements
Qualifications & ExperienceRequired- 3–7+ years’ experience in millwork, cabinetry, or custom woodworking industry
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D; 3D is an asset)
- Experience in client-facing account management or project management
- Proven experience in estimating millwork or construction projects
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Preferred- Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Woodworking, or related field
- Experience working with residential builders, designers, or developers
- Familiarity with ERP systems, project management tools, or estimating software
- Knowledge of materials, hardware, finishes, and millwork construction methods
