Controller – Wholesale & Distribution Industry

Our client, a well-established company in the wholesale and distribution sector , is seeking a Controller to lead their corporate accounting operations. Reporting directly to the CEO , this role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, treasury management, regulatory compliance, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations , including the supervision of team members responsible for billing & collections, accounts payable, and payroll .
• Prepare and publish monthly financial statements , ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Investigate, dispute, and resolve short payments and remittance deductions in collaboration with internal teams.
• Manage daily cash flow and prepare monthly cash-flow projections based on financial forecasts.
• Direct and execute month-end and year-end closing procedures .
• Ensure compliance with government, tax, and regulatory reporting requirements .
• Lead year-end close processes and manage external audit preparation.
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
• Work closely with IT teams to enhance automation and efficiency in accounting processes, particularly in the integration and optimization of the Epicor ERP system .
• Establish and align best practices to enhance accounting operations and financial transparency.
