Description de poste

Are you looking for unlimited opportunities to develop and succeed? With work that challenges and makes a difference and a flexible and supportive environment, we can help our customers achieve their dreams and aspirations.

We embrace diversity and are continuing to grow our talents at Manulife. We are going through a transformation to ensure we continue to evolve our great technology division - within our great financial company.

The Canadian Enterprise Architecture team is looking to expand our architecture practice with more talent like you. Specifically, we're looking for flexible, resilient, energetic IT professionals with an engineering approach, who understand how to deliver what the customer wants and needs, through great collaboration with business and IT partners.

You'll partner with dedicated IT professionals to craft and implement cross-platform solutions to delight our customers as they enroll for insurance and banking products, submit claims, and take on the challenge that life brings.

You will have the exciting challenge of solving some pretty complex cases while being at the forefront of the technology journey to solve them, helping transform our Canadian business!

What you will be doing

  • Have a stake in the broader technical ecosystem and the solutions that you own by acting as a member of the teams you work with, using standards and patterns as an accelerator.
  • Be data driven in both decision making and in governance practices.
  • Hold on-demand reviews in public for greater transparency, ensuring that governance is collaborative and not punitive.
  • Measure critical metrics, understand their value, and then use the results to continuously improve both the ecosystem and your solutions.
  • Develop useful architecture models that can then be used by both system architects and engineers, and demo these models over PowerPoint presentations.
  • Partner with product collaborators by influencing priorities while being responsible for the technical solutions.
  • Be proactive, working with partners to build architecture concepts prior to initiating an effort.
  • Develop and maintain future models to align business strategy and technology strategy, and any product purchases or vendor assessments.
  • Keep models updated frequently and available for other technical teams.

What you will bring along

  • 3+ years of experience as a technology or engineering leader for complex systems from design to production.
  • You obsess about customers, listen, engage and act for their benefit.
  • Experience reviewing and mentoring teams to perform threat modelling.
  • Ability to translate sophisticated business problems and critical metrics into a solution architecture which can be demoed and implemented by multiple agile teams.
  • Have an eye for the future - we need leaders with vision who flourish with learning about what's on the horizon and seeing how it can be applied to the customer challenges we need to solve.
  • You know and care about writing safe, sound, and secure code and have fixed issues yourself.
  • Experience with and curiosity about going deep on topics such as continuous delivery, reliability, security, cloud, and data science.
  • What can we offer you?

  • A competitive salary and benefits packages.
  • A growth trajectory that extends upward and outward, encouraging you to follow your passions and learn new skills.
  • A focus on growing your career path with us.
  • Flexible work policies and strong work-life balance.
  • Professional development and leadership opportunities.
  • Our commitment :

  • Values-first culture : We lead with our Values every day and bring them to life together.
  • Boundless opportunity : We create opportunities to learn and grow at every stage of your career.
  • Continuous innovation : We invite you to help redefine the future of financial services.
  • Delivering the promise of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion : We foster an inclusive workplace where everyone thrives.
  • Championing Corporate Citizenship : We build a business that benefits all customers and has a positive social and environmental impact.
