ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Managing Partner, the Structural Engineering Associate will play a pivotal role in offering services that include general drafting and design of buildings, energy modelling and consultation, structural engineering, building code analysis, and acting as a turn-key prime consultant for building drawings. The ideal candidate for this position will be a highly motivated individual with a strong foundation in structural engineering principles, excellent problem-solving skills, and a keen attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analysis and design of concrete, wood, and steel structures
• Structural engineering of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings
• Preparing detailed drawings and plans for construction projects
• Assisting with the analysis and design of building structures
• Supporting the review and approval process of structural designs
• Maintaining accurate project documentation and records
• Conducting site visits to gather data and ensure compliance with design specifications
• Site inspections and reviews as required
• Coordination and communication with office staff
• Coordination and communication with contractors
• Collaborating with project teams to develop innovative engineering solutions
• Collaboration with senior engineers to support integrated designs
• Assisting in the preparation and review of engineering calculations, reports, and specifications
• Participating in project meetings and presentations to stakeholders
• Staying current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices
• Ensuring all engineering work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
