Description
The Design Services Librarian collaborates with various Design Engineering, Supply Chain Management, and Manufacturing subject matter experts to introduce new parts into the GDLS-C LAV product line. This role is responsible for assisting in the classification and management of vendor part models and drawings within the Teamcenter Classification database. They offer guidance to ensure that parts are selected in accordance with company and industry standards. The role primarily interfaces with Design Engineers, Design Services Designers, and Engineering Electrical CAD (ECAD) Librarians.
Create, release, and maintain 3D CAD models for commercial parts, Government Furnished Equipment/Material, and industry-standard parts using associative modeling techniques capable of producing extensive part families using Siemens NX software.
Prepare Vendor Item, Source Control, Envelope drawings, and 3D models in accordance with applicable ASME and company standards.
Demonstrate foundational understanding of Siemens NX and/or Teamcenter Visualization software, ensuring effective application in professional environments.
Facilitate the export and import of commercial part models to and from the GDLS-C supply base.
Collaborate with ECAD Librarians to create CAD items that support NX Routing functionality.
Familiarity with defence, and/or mobile equipment standards (. MIL-Specs, ASME standards, SAE standards, FMVSS, .
Additional Skills & Qualifications
University Degree or College Diploma in an Electrical or Mechanical field
2+ years relevant experience modelling and drafting using NX CAD software
Experience using 3D design software such as Siemens NX, Solidworks or Autodesk Inventor
Effective communication, interpersonal, organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to communicate fairly complex information
Advanced computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
