Orca was awarded London’s prestigious ‘Medium Business of the Year’ award for 2024 by the London Chamber of Commerce for tremendous growth and community involvement.Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing Orca’s clients’ transportation networks with the purpose of identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve service levels. The successful candidate will review the freight network of multiple clients and assist clients with optimizing their transportation spend. The candidate will analyze and consult on supply chains ranging from $1M in annual freight spend all the way to $500M in annual freight spend. The successful candidate will also assist internal operations by managing rates, importing data sets, and setting up invoicing templates for new clients. Data preparation and normalization will be a large part of this role.Key ResponsibilitiesThe ideal candidate will : Analyze end to end supply chain improvement opportunities to continuously support each Orca client. Follow the flow of products from DC to store / customer and to continuously assess alternatives to reduce the overall cost structure for each clientIntroduce structure and creative solutions to improvement initiatives across distribution centers, transportation and replenishment functionsDesign Quarterly Business Reviews that suggest creative ways each client can reconfigure their respective supply chains in order to become more efficient or save time and moneyAnalyze data across multiple clients from Orca’s proprietary audit systemDevelop and present detailed analysis using transportation data to highlight major findings and opportunities to Orca and various levels within clientsManipulate and process data files (Excel, CSV, etc.) to extract insights and support data-driven decision-making.Assist with preparing and executing national transportation RFP’s for clients.Stay on top of industry news and market trends to ensure Orca is always up to date on relevant industry information.Assist CEO and other Orca staff with day-to-day operations as required for client base.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will possess the following skills : Strong reporting, documenting and analytical skillsStrong proficiency in Python for data analysis, automation, and process optimizationKnowledge of Pandas and NumPy for data manipulation and analysisFamiliarity with SQL for querying large datasetsUnderstanding of machine learning or predictive analytics for supply chain forecasting (preferred but not required)Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutionsMicrosoft Fabric experience is a strong plus.Advanced skills in Microsoft applicationsAbility to work independently and with minimal supervisionKnowledgeable in project management methodsAdept facilitation / presentation skillsEffective client management and customer relationship skillsValued TraitsThe ideal candidate will possess the following traits : Clear communicatorClient centeredRapport builderProblem solverProactive attitudeStrategic thinkerHonest & directResults-orientedTeam playerOutstanding work ethicSelf-starterCompensationOrca provides a competitive compensation package : Competitive base salaryRRSP contribution matchingAnnual profit based bonusFantastic benefits packageHealthcare Spending AccountLifestyle Spending AccountComplimentary cell phone plan
