Description de poste
Job Description
We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our client’s Revenue Team in Toronto. This is a dynamic, one-year contract opportunity (with potential for extension) designed for a self-starter who thrives on data analysis, process improvement, and complex financial reconciliations.
In this role, you will play a vital part in the revenue recognition cycle for a major industry leader. Working within the Revenue Team, you will manage daily subscriber remittance processing, assist with month-end closures, and support high-impact projects involving Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) initiatives and automation. This is a hybrid role, requiring three days in-office (Monday–Wednesday) at the Scarborough location.

Advantages
Advantages
•Project Exposure: Gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge Direct-to-Consumer projects and automation initiatives.
•Professional Growth: Opportunity to work within a sophisticated SAP environment alongside senior financial leadership.
•Hybrid Flexibility: Enjoy a balanced work week with designated work-from-home days (Thursday and Friday).
•Stability with Upside: A long-term 12-month contract with the potential for extension or permanent transition based on performance.

Responsibilities
•Revenue Management: Prepare revenue journal entries and oversee daily subscriber remittance processing and cash applications.
•Month-End Support: Assist with the timely completion of the month-end close process, including account analysis and complex reconciliations.
•Data Analysis: Perform data mining and analysis to ensure accurate revenue recognition and invoice creation.
•Process Innovation: Contribute to ongoing automation initiatives to streamline financial reporting and operational workflows.
•Ad-Hoc Reporting: Provide analytical support for various financial projects and subscriber imports as assigned.

Qualifications
•Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in an accounting or finance environment.
•Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (data mining, complex formulas) and hands-on expertise with SAP.
•Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a 'curiosity-driven' approach to financial data.
•Soft Skills: Excellent English communication skills; must be organized, independent, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
•Education: A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

Summary

If you are a motivated finance professional looking to take the next step in your career with a reputable organization, we want to hear from you. This role is perfect for someone who is not just looking to 'crunch numbers' but wants to understand the 'why' behind the data and contribute to a team's efficiency through automation and analysis.
Note to Applicants: As part of our streamlined selection process, candidates are encouraged to provide a short (2–3 minute) introductory video highlighting their background and how their specific SAP and Excel experience aligns with this role.
