As a Manufacturing Engineer or Technologist, you will support operations and lead the introduction and implementation of new equipment and processes while continuously working to improve current state within the manufacturing plant. This position is located at our corporate office and manufacturing facility in Steinbach, MB.

Choice of Work Schedule: either Monday to Thursday Day Shift, 10 hours per day / 4 days per week OR Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day / 5 days per week

In this role you will:

  • Lead task and project teams
  • Participate in shop floor improvement projects, identifying tools and equipment to increase efficiency and capacity
  • Researching, specifying, ordering, implementing, performance testing, and championing the training for new production tooling and equipment
  • Preparing Capital Expenditure requests supported by savings and return on investment calculations
  • Creating and updating engineering drawings and layouts
  • Collecting and analyzing data to identify and justify improvement actions
  • Staying abreast of new technology, manufacturing practices, processes, and equipment
  • Promote a continuous improvement culture within the organization

You will bring to this role:

  • A degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering Program or diploma from a Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to read/interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on customer service
  • Strong root cause analysis problem solving skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD, MS Word, Excel and Project

Assets:

  • Hold a valid professional registration with EGM (EIT or P.Eng) or CTTAM (CET)
  • 3+ years experience would be considered an asset
  • Analytical thinker capable of “thinking outside the box”
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of basic electrical concepts
  • Knowledge of cutting tools
  • Knowledge or experience in mechatronics
  • Paint / Coating application experience an asset
