Job description :

The Application Engineer - Mechanical is responsible for supporting regional clients by providing power transmission and automation solutions, as well as technical support. Here are the key points to remember:

Main tasks:

Application:

  • Technical calculations and sizing of the products, static/dynamic analysis, shaft and bearing calculations, thermal analysis, etc.

Technical Support:

  • Primary technical resource, failure analysis, writing technical reports, educating clients and internal colleagues, assisting assembly technicians.

Special Designs:

  • Creating drawings on SolidWorks for customer requests, such as solid/hollow shafts, adapters, welded structures, etc.

Training and Self-learning:

  • Continuous learning environment, participation in engineering meetings, providing training to clients and internal colleagues, opportunity to be a mentor.

Miscellaneous:

  • Managing special projects, building demonstration products, general department maintenance, etc.

Skills and qualifications :

  • 0-3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering recognized by Quebec.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering (an asset).
  • Good knowledge of SolidWorks software. Knowledge of industrial power transmission.
  • Knowledge of asynchronous and synchronous motors (an asset).
  • Knowledge of industrial automation (an asset).
  • Experience in customer service.
  • Good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication in French and English.
  • Manual dexterity and willingness to perform physical tasks. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (or eligible without further studies).
