Job Title: Software Developer / Engineer, Mobile ApplicationsLocation: Abbotsford, BCEmployment Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Direct Placement About the Opportunity: The Software Developer/Engineer, Mobile Applications will join our client's multidisciplinary engineering team to develop and maintain mobile applications that interact with their intelligent torque systems and connected products. This role will focus primarily on designing, implementing, and enhancing mobile user experiences while also contributing to backend services, cloud systems, APIs, databases, desktop applications, and internal engineering tools as required. This position is ideal for a software engineer who enjoys creating exceptional user experiences while also remaining engaged with the broader software ecosystem. You will work closely with software, firmware, hardware, mechanical, product, V&V, and DevOps teams to develop reliable, secure, and intuitive software solutions that connect our client's products, services, and customers. What You'll Do: Mobile Development-Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.-Create intuitive, reliable, and high-performance user experiences.-Implement application features that support offline operation and data synchronization.-Integrate secure authentication and device enrollment workflows.-Optimize mobile application performance, reliability, and usability.-Support application deployment, monitoring, and maintenance activities. Full Stack Contribution-Develop and maintain backend services and APIs supporting mobile applications.-Contribute to database design, data management, and integration efforts.-Contribute to cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and operational tooling.-Support integrations with embedded systems, connected devices, and third-party platforms.-Troubleshoot issues across applications, services, infrastructure, and connected products. Engineering Collaboration-Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making.-Write automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.-Perform code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.-Collaborate with software, firmware, hardware, product, V&V, operations, and customer-facing teams.-Support production systems and assist in root-cause analysis of field issues.-Continuously learn new technologies and apply them where appropriate.-Mentor junior developers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.-Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities Ensure the quality, scalability, and maintainability of DevOps designs by applying sound engineering principles, design patterns, and development best practices. What You'll Bring: Mobile Application Development (Primary Focus) -Experience developing mobile applications for iOS and Android.-Experience with modern mobile development frameworks such as:-React Native-Xamarin / .NET MAUI-Flutter-Native iOS-Native Android-Strong understanding of mobile application architecture patterns such as MVVM.-Experience working with local storage, data synchronization, and offline-first applications.-Experience consuming and integrating RESTful APIs.-Familiarity with application deployment processes for mobile platforms. UI/UX Skills -Experience implementing responsive and intuitive user interfaces.-Strong understanding of user-centric design principles and mobile user experience best practices.-Experience creating wireframes, mock-ups, user flows, and interactive prototypes.-Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar. Other Application Development-Desktop application development.-Web application development.-Cross-platform development frameworks. Backend & APIs -RESTful API design and development.-Service-oriented and distributed architectures.-Authentication and authorization systems.-Integration with third-party services, including cloud. Data & Persistence -SQL databases.-Database design and optimization.-Data synchronization and offline-first applications.-Reporting and analytics systems. Cloud & Infrastructure-Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.-Containerized environments.-CI/CD pipelines.-Deployment automation.-Monitoring and diagnostics. Software Engineering-Object-oriented programming principles.-Secure software development practices.-Unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.-Source control and collaborative development workflows.-Software architecture and design patterns.-Performance analysis and troubleshooting. Additional Assets-Experience with Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi, or device communication protocols.-Experience with cloud-connected mobile applications.-Experience integrating software with hardware or connected devices.-Familiarity with desktop application development.-Experience working with industrial, IoT, embedded, or connected products.-Knowledge of networking fundamentals, web protocols, and security concepts.
