MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES : 1. Scans bar code into the work order.
2. Verifies that the equipment and work area is in safe operating condition.
3. Read the product master sheet for the product in production.
4. Verify that the product specifications are being met.
5. Inspect product as it is produced to ensure that it conforms to product standard.
6. Apply labels, sleeves, insert booklets or apply closures, as the product requires.
7. Assemble finished product as required on to trays, into boxes or bags.
8. Assemble skids of finished product and apply labels as necessary.
9. Conduct weight checks and record data on weight control chart each hour.
10. If required verify that the product has been flamed correctly every two hours.
11. Using a sample bottle verify that the leak detector is functioning correctly.
12. Empty flash containers into the grinding machine as necessary.
13. Assemble packaging components such as trays, as required.
14. When defective product is produced, record defects on the defect tally sheet.
15. When defective product is produced and where warranted, make machine adjustments and / or bring the defect to the attention of the Shift Supervisor.
16. Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and the work area.
17. As manufactured product is produced, record production on the machine data sheet.
18. If equipment is shutdown or ceases to operate, record downtime on the defect tally sheet.
PROBLEM SOLVING : Describe the more complex problems or challenges faced.
1. Where necessary make adjustments to the equipment or process to ensure that the finished product meets the product specifications.
2. When the machine operator notes that the product is not meeting the product specifications they will hold the product for future inspection and approval.
