We are now seeking a Labour Relations and Scheduling Manager who will play a pivotal role in managing HR functions within our unionized environment. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of labour relations, employee engagement, and HR best practices. - Ensure compliance with Aviation security compliances and labour regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and company policies in all scheduling and labour relations practice.
- Oversee and administer semi-annual and monthly shift bid processes, ensuring fairness and compliance with collective bargaining agreements.
- Support the management team in addressing concerns of discipline, dismissal, interpretation and application of the collective agreement, labour, and employment law.
- facilitating effective communication between management and union members.
- Communicate with various Unions representatives with respect to grievances, company initiatives and other issues related to bargaining unit employees.
- Manage and process employee leave of absence (LOA) requests in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Support management with employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions and terminations, in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
- Stay informed about relevant labour codes and regulations, including but not limited to the Employment Standards Act, Labour Relations Code, and collective agreements, and advise management on compliance requirements.
- Support with branch full-cycle recruitment efforts including resume screening, interviews, and onboarding.
- Coordinate office activities and processes to ensure smooth operations.
