Our Downtown client is looking for a Controller for the management company for their privately held group of companies. Reporting directly to the President, the Controller will be responsible for reviewing the financial statements of multiple entities, some of which have an accounting department, as well as reviewing complex intercompany transactions in a multi-currency environment and taking full ownership of the monthly reporting package for the ownership group. Additionally, the Controller will be responsible for the oversight of 2 accounting and office staff, perform ad hoc analysis, streamline accounting procedures and make business process improvements.

Job Requirements :

The ideal Controller for this position will have a minimum of 7+ years of total accounting experience and 2+ years of experience working in a complex owner or management company operated environment. You have your CPA and you have experience working in a multi-entity, ideally multi-currency environment. You have supervised staff, led the month closing process and possess high analytical skills. Experience with an ERP system, intermediate to advanced level Excel skills are requisite and any experience from public practice (especially audit and tax!) would be seen as an asset.
