Job Title: Outdoor Forklift Operator

Job Description

This role involves operating large outdoor diesel forklifts to move oversized construction materials and performing general labor tasks in a busy yard. You will spend a significant portion of your shift handling heavy loads, loading and unloading trailers, organizing products using RF scanners, and working outdoors in all weather conditions on rough terrain.

Responsibilities

• Operate large outdoor sit-down counterbalance forklifts to move oversized materials
• Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently, ensuring loads are secure and properly placed.
• Perform shipping and receiving activities, including staging, loading, and unloading materials in the yard.
• Use RF scanners to pick orders accurately, track inventory, and organize products throughout the yard.
• Maintain yard organization by placing materials in designated locations and keeping pathways clear for forklifts and pedestrians.
• Work on rough terrain and in an outdoor environment, adapting to changing ground and weather conditions.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to yard traffic rules.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 1+ years of outdoor sit-down forklift operating experience on rough terrain.
• Proven experience loading and unloading trailers using a sit-down forklift.
• Experience picking orders and handling materials in an industrial or yard environment.
• Experience with shipping and receiving processes and material handling.
• Ability to use RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking, or willingness to learn.
• Strong focus on safety when operating forklifts and working around moving equipment.
• Coachability and openness to feedback, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable transportation to a non–transit-accessible site.

You will work in a busy, dusty, and noisy outdoor yard and facility

The site is not accessible by public transit, so reliable transportation is required.

The regular schedule is a weekday afternoon shift, Monday to Friday, from 11:00 . to 6:00 .

The environment is fast-paced and safety-focused, with strong emphasis on teamwork and cultural fit.

Dress code requires appropriate outdoor clothing suitable for the weather, along with mandatory 6-inch tie-up steel-toe boots and a safety vest.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
