Job Description

North Star Windows & Doors (St. Thomas, Ontario) is hiring a motivated, safety‑focused team player who is eager to learn and grow as part of our Production Team in a permanent, part‑time role.

  • 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM | Monday to Friday
  • $22.25/hour (increase to $22.50/hour after 90 days)
  • Permanent part-time position
  • On‑site production role

As part of the team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assemble, fabricate, and inspect windows and doors to meet quality standards and specifications
  • Review work orders, prepare materials, and safely operate hand tools, power tools, saws, and automated equipment
  • Assemble components including frames, glass units, hardware, seals, and screens
  • Operate production equipment such as saws, pneumatic tools, and welding machinery
  • Inspect finished products and report defects or quality concerns
  • Prepare products for shipment, including labeling, packing, and loading
  • Participate in 5S activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Contribute ideas to improve safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Support quality standards and help ensure products meet customer requirements
  • Work respectfully and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Support the team in achieving production and performance targets
  • Follow direction of leadership and continuously verify quality through measurement.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with general labour/construction/manufacturing is preferred.
  • Willing to train, but must have a great attitude, strong work ethic, and reliable
  • Standing for the full shift, lifting/maneuvering of products required (medium to heavy lifting, 30-50lbs)
  • Handling of materials (manual dexterity required)
  • Experience using power tools and hand-tools
  • Ability to read a tape measure with accuracy and precision
  • Safety-conscious and detail oriented.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada and 18-yrs of age or older
