Job Title : Metal Fabricator / Welder (Journeyperson & Apprentice)

Whether you are looking to sharpen existing skills or learn new trade techniques, The C&A Group is the place for you. We are actively seeking team members interested in learning to fabricate, TIG weld alloys, or execute sanitary purge process piping.

Our Expertise :

  • Food & Beverage : Process equipment design, fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
  • Industrial : Structural steel (fabrication & erection), material handling (product conveyance), and millwrighting services.
  • Ag & Oil / Gas : Mobile equipment design / manufacturing and processing facilities.
  • Specialized Services : Industrial plumbing, process piping, and CNC / General machining.

Who We Are Looking For :

  • Safety First : Safety is your priority!
  • Technical Skill : Experience with fabrication (Stainless, Aluminum, Carbon steel) and forming equipment (Brake, Shear, Plate Rollers) is preferred.
  • Detail Oriented : You can read / interpret blueprints and have a passion for high‑quality, custom fabricated, metal components.
  • Growth Mindset : You are self‑motivated, goal‑driven, and passionate about continuous learning and improvement.
  • Team Player : You maintain a positive attitude, are trustworthy, and seek to innovate processes.

    • Key Responsibilities :

  • Welding Processes : Perform SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW welds to specification.
  • Compliance : Adhere to all C&A, Provincial, and Prime Contractor health and safety regulations.
  • Technical Execution : Read blueprints, identify materials and parts from bills of material, fit complex weldments and determine welding procedures to minimize distortion.
  • Mathematics : Apply knowledge of fractions, measuring, and geometry.

    • Qualifications :

  • Journeypersons : Must possess an Alberta Welding Certificate or Inter‑Provincial Red Seal.
  • Apprentices : Must possess a High School Diploma.
  • Certifications : Ability to pass CWB welding tests.
  • Driver’s License : Candidates with a valid Class 5 license and clean 3‑year driving abstract are strongly preferred.

    • The Hiring Process :

    2. In‑Person Interview : Successful candidates will meet our hiring team (Operations Manager, Manufacturing / Field Operations Manager, and Foreman).
