About Gerry Enns Contracting

Gerry Enns Contracting (GEC) is a community‑driven general contractor and custom builder specializing in commercial, industrial, tenant improvement, and residential construction. Proudly founded in Chilliwack, we serve clients across the Fraser Valley, Greater Vancouver, and the Okanagan, delivering quality construction services with a personal, client‑focused approach.

For more than 35 years, GEC has been a trusted building partner. Our collaborative approach brings owners, designers, construction teams, and sub‑trades together early to mitigate risk, operate efficiently, and deliver meaningful projects that contribute to thriving communities.

We take pride in our people, our craftsmanship, and the spaces we build. As part of the Emil Anderson Group, we pair deep local roots with the resources, training, and support of a respected BC construction network—enabling us to deliver dependable results and an exceptional client experience, from preconstruction through closeout.

Our success is rooted in our Core Values: Safety, Leadership, Improvement, Commitment, and Excellence. Joining our team means working on landmark projects, learning from industry leaders, and advancing your career in a supportive, safety-focused culture.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Commercial Superintendent with a background in commercial and/or residential construction who’s ready to grow with a community‑driven general contractor. With a collaborative team, diverse project opportunities, and strong mentorship, you’ll help deliver quality projects and a great client experience across the Fraser Valley.

As a Commercial Superintendent, you will lead day-to-day site operations from mobilization to closeout—coordinating trades and field staff, running site meetings and toolbox talks, and keeping detailed daily reports. You’ll drive the schedule, manage site documentation and inspections, and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to spec—delivering quality results and a positive client experience.

This role is based out of the Fraser Valley, with the possibility of travel to out-of-town projects. If you are positive, people-oriented, and excited to build meaningful spaces for the communities we serve this could be the role for you!

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Keep a daily log of construction activities.
  • Hold weekly site meetings to track project schedules.
  • Conduct Toolbox Talks and orientations.
  • Handover of home to clients and delivery of warranty documents.
  • Develop and plan for project requirements (manpower, equipment, and materials).
  • Hold required site meetings.
  • Daily walkthroughs of projects – quality assurance and site photo uploads.
  • Daily updating of project schedules.
  • Supervise field staff and trade partners.
  • Teamwork; open to be on the tools.
  • Duties may evolve based on project needs, organizational priorities, and direction from leadership.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of Proven experience as a Residential or Commercial Superintendent.
  • Adequate computer skills to communicate with all project stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with Worksafe BC safety standards.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean abstract required.
  • Current First Aid certification an asset.
  • Familiarity with CoConstruct and Salus an asset.
  • Red Seal trade qualification is an asset.

What We Offer

The chance to be part of landmark projects that shape communities across British Columbia, while building your career with a company that’s been trusted for over 85 years. As part of the Emil Anderson Group of companies, you’ll join a culture where people are more than employees – they’re contributors, owners, and leaders. Here, you’ll have opportunities to learn from industry experts, grow your skills, and make a lasting impact across a diverse range of projects.

  • Competitive salary range: $90,000–$125,000 annually.
  • Opportunity to participate in ShareCo, our employee ownership program.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • RRSP matching program.
  • Training and career development opportunities.
  • Annual safety recognition and employee appreciation programs.

ShareCo

For four generations, Emil Anderson Group has thrived as a successful, family-owned and operated company. In 2024, we expanded that legacy by launching ShareCo – our Employee Ownership Program, giving eligible team members the opportunity to become owners in EAG and share directly in the company’s performance and growth.

This ownership model deepens our culture of collaboration, accountability, and shared success. When you contribute ideas, drive innovation, or deliver exceptional results, you’re not just helping to build great projects — you’re helping to build your own financial future.

Safety & Compliance

Safety is our highest priority. All employees are expected to work in compliance with company safety policies and WorkSafeBC regulations, wear appropriate PPE, and participate in toolbox talks and safety training, where applicable.

We base such decisions solely on job-related qualifications, skills, and abilities without regard to race, nationality, ethnicity, color, gender, political affiliation, religion/belief system, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, age, diverse ability, or any other characteristic.
