The Senior Advisor, Labour Relations is a key differentiator for PASS. In that the position is accountable for ensuring that our employees are being supported in a manner that is consistent with best practices, policies and procedures outlined by PASS’s Corporate People & Culture Department. In addition to day-to-day labour relations in compliance with our collective agreements with the three unions in the Pacific Region, the Senior Advisor, Labour Relations is also responsible for the following functions :
- Provide guidance and advice to management on disciplinary actions, terminations, and Federal employment laws and regulations across the Pacific Region
- Communicate effectively with employees and management to identify problems and resolve conflicts
- Conduct investigations in response to employee complaints and provide appropriate resolutions
- Work closely with several cross functional departments across the Pacific Region
- Play a key role supporting management in Grievance and Arbitration meetings
- Support the representation of management in the Collective Bargaining process
- Deliver coaching and training programs on the Collective Agreements, employee relations issues such as respectful workplace, conflict management, and harassment
- Analyze employee engagement and turnover data to identify trends and develop strategies for improvement
- Ensure compliance with federal employment laws and regulations
- Be an expert and source of knowledge to others on the Collective Agreements
- Collaborate with People & Culture Team to update and maintain the employee handbook and other HR policies and procedures
- Participate in the development and implementation of HR strategies that align with the organization’s goals and objectives
- Support the Employee Care and People & Culture Team with a variety of initiatives
