We are looking for Branch Operations Manager for our client that offers turnkey project management services for lifting of all kinds. It specializes in industrial lifting in Newfoundland and Labrador, operating from its offices in Wabush. Reports to the Operartion Director. He acts as the company's representative in overseeing activities under his purview. He is responsible for planning, scheduling, supervising, and controlling operations and fleet maintenance, as well as executing fieldwork for all service categories in which company operates—rental and operation of cranes and heavy machinery, land transport, and other related activities. The Operations Manager at the branch also directly supervises all site employees assigned to various operations. Additionally, he provides necessary support to clients, helping to develop and maintain service excellence and strong business-client relationships by offering unmatched service, enabling the company to retain its reputation as a market leader.
Main Responsibilities
As the Branch Duty Operations Manager, he plans, schedules, directs, controls, and evaluates branch operational activities and fleet maintenance according to the business objectives and the strategies and policies of the company .
He maintains close ties with other business unites to ensure good collaboration and coordination to meet their business objectives as well as those. He is responsible for establishing shared priorities and resolving operational issues promptly and effectively.
In addition to managing all day-to-day operations, he ensures regular and thorough client relationship management.
Operations – General Duties
- Responsible for planning the activities assigned to him by his immediate supervisor, including overall work planning (equipment preparation, subcontracting, various purchases, labor distribution, etc.).
- Ensures that appropriate work methods and applicable procedures are followed; he conducts necessary risk assessments for all projects and determines preventive measures, as needed.
- Makes sure that all equipment is functional and ready for work, assigns personnel based on the nature and duration of the tasks, coordinates with subcontractors, and synchronizes all work with clients.
- Oversees the execution of various projects on-site to ensure smooth operations.
- Ensures that all operators conduct daily inspections of the equipment and perform any required maintenance.
- Manages the inventory of lifting equipment accessories effectively.
- Coordinates various tasks with all involved parties.
- Responds to service calls or, if necessary, designates someone to handle them.
- Ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance of cranes and equipment is carried out according to current standards and that they are kept in good working condition.

Profil
Requirements
University or college degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, construction engineering, or equivalent. Proven experience in a field related to heavy industry or civil construction, as well as in managing or supervising work teams. Ability to communicate fluently in English and French, both orally and in writing. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), effective for both supervision and teamwork, as well as client relations. Proficiency in MS Office software. Ability to work under pressure in situations with significant constraints (time, material and human resources, changing weather conditions, etc.).
