Project Communications Lead Company IDL Projects Inc. (IDL) is a dynamic, rapidly expanding company focused on providing a broad array of construction services in Canada and internationally. We have established ourselves as a go-to solutions provider in the construction areas of civil and infrastructure, commercial, residential, public and institutional, industrial, energy, mining, and safety services. Position Summary IDL is undertaking one of the largest municipal infrastructure replacement projects in Canadian history. The project is in Prince Rupert, BC and is several years in duration. The project will include significant public interface. IDL and its clients are motivated to minimize disruption to the general public and all stakeholders. To support our efforts, IDL is looking for an experienced Project Communications Lead. The Project Communications Lead is a key support position reporting to the Project Manager. The Project Communications Lead will use their communication and public relations skills to facilitate effective communication between the project team and the community. Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Project Communications Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies, preparing and distributing project updates, and managing community engagement activities. The Project Communications Lead will also work directly with the Client. Responsibilities Be the face of the Project from a communications perspective. Develop and implement communication strategies to inform and engage the community about construction project progress. Prepare and distribute regular project updates and other communications to community members and stakeholders. Organize and participate in community meetings, public consultations, and other engagement activities. Respond to community inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. Coordinate with project team members to gather and disseminate accurate and timely information. Assist in the preparation of press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials. Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of community contacts and stakeholders. Monitor and report on community feedback and sentiment to the project team. Ensure all communication materials adhere to company standards and project requirements. Assist with the organization and execution of project-related events and activities. Qualifications Completed a degree or diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Commerce or a related field. Experience in community relations, public engagement, or communication roles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with social media platforms and content management systems. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with the construction industry and project lifecycle is an asset. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with community members and stakeholders. Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software. Self-motivated with a keen interest in community engagement and communication.
