Our Banking Client is seeking a Mainframe Developer with hands-on expertise in Assembler and COBOL.

Typical Day in Role

• The Mainframe Developer, reporting to the Senior Manager Development, will lead various development projects and support application solutions for the Canadian business line. They will collaborate with multiple teams to deliver requirements for regulatory and compliance platforms. Ideal candidates should be proactive, creative, show initiative, eager to learn, and thrive on challenges
• The role involves acting as an expert technical resource for problem analysis and solution implementation, supporting applications, and working within the Bank's architectural guidelines.
• Championing a customer-focused culture and deepening client relationships.
• Interacting with business clients to resolve system questions and issues.
• Collaborating with team members, external vendors, business partners, internal stakeholders, and management.
• Providing analysis and coding support for host applications and infrastructure implementations.
• Demonstrating excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
• Taking accountability for results with a proactive, "can do" attitude.
• Being a self-starter with a desire to learn and contribute.

• Mentoring junior developers on best practices.
