RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customer and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
Performs work in accordance with construction and installation plans, standards, inspection and test plans, safety and technical procedures, repair, and maintenance requirements on Transmission, Distribution, and Substation.
Assists the installation, relocation, and / or removal of civil works, wires, communication cables, and other power facilities.
Assists in the assembly and installation of civil, structural, electrical, and communication equipment affiliated with power facilities.
Works in conjunction with other trades and contractors to ensure timely completion of work.
Inspects and confirms safe operation of tools, instruments, devices, and mobile equipment.
Complete general site maintenance including clean up, and assisting other workers on site as directed.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Blue Book or proof of apprenticeship as an Apprentice Linesman
Experience with distribution work
Experience with line line work
Experience operating powerline equipment
Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License
Experience working with SaskPower is an asset
Successful completion of pre-access requirements (online training, verification of tickets and apprenticeship, satisfactory D&A test)
LANGUAGES
Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
