For 40 years, POGO has been on a mission to transform pediatric cancer care for children, youth, survivors, their families, and healthcare teams across Ontario and beyond. As the unwavering champion of childhood cancer care, POGO proudly serves as the collective voice of this community and holds the distinguished responsibility of official advisor to Ontario’s Ministry of Health on children’s cancer control and treatment.

POGO is a non-profit organization with charitable status, dedicated to supporting kids with cancer not just for now, but for life. In partnership with pediatric oncology centres across the province, and guided most recently by its Childhood Cancer Care Plan : A Roadmap for Ontario 2018-2023, POGO has made great strides while recognizing that there is so much more work to do. With an unrelenting commitment to its mission, POGO is now actively searching for a Chief Executive Officer to build on its past successes in nurturing a brighter and healthier future for the brave young warriors they serve.

As the , you will work alongside the Medical Director, lead a skilled and dedicated executive team, and report to a committed and collaborative volunteer Board of Directors. The CEO’s mandate is to provide strategic and operational leadership to the organization, while deepening and expanding relationships with and garnering support from the Ministry of Health, Ontario Health, pediatric oncology and community partners, donors, and other stakeholders. The CEO is instrumental in helping POGO achieve its commitment to putting equity at the heart of everything they do, so that everyone affected by childhood cancer has access to the best care and support.

As the ideal candidate, you bring a history of leadership and managerial success at the organizational and broader health system levels. You understand how to align initiatives to the priorities set forth in the strategic plan. Your exceptional communication skills are paramount for success in this position. You have a track record of successfully advocating for health priorities and engaging with partners in government and the healthcare system. You are a skilled, dedicated, and inclusive people leader who motivates others to achieve outstanding results while building cultures that foster diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and accessibility.
