Purpose of the Role :

As the Material Chemist, you will be working on porous polymer synthesis by conducting laboratory experiments, making one or multi-step syntheses of monomers and some purifications, operating lab instruments for characterization, and analyzing data. You enjoy working in a wet lab and being part of a fast-paced team.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• You have a Ph. D. in Chemistry or a related field with experience working in wet labs, preferably in organic / polymer synthesis and characterization.
• You have excellent knowledge of materials science, organic chemistry, porous material and post-modification of polymers.
• You have experience in laboratory experiments involving multi-step organic synthesis, polymerization, sample purification and characterization, crystallizations, and other lab techniques.
• You have excellent knowledge of WHMIS safety guidelines and comply with health and safety policies. Need to work in a lab with high safety standards.
• You are able to work in a wet lab setting for the majority of the day, involving standing and walking for prolonged times.
