How You'll Make a Difference

We are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team. This role is pivotal in driving strategic financial initiatives, managing M&A activities, and optimizing financial operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in private equity, lender relations, and complex financial management, ensuring sustainable growth and financial stability.

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the firm’s financial strategy, including M&A activities, industry roll-ups, and strategic partnerships.
  • Lead capital-raising efforts, including debt and equity financing.
  • Oversee treasury functions, multi-currency operations, and bank covenant compliance.
  • Provide strategic insights through financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting.

Investor & Lender Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, equity partners, and lenders.
  • Lead financial discussions at investor and lender meetings.
  • Ensure accurate, transparent reporting of financial performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Monitor and report on covenant compliance and key financial metrics.
  • Financial Operations & Systems

  • Oversee the implementation and optimization of NetSuite ERP.
  • Manage consolidated financial reporting across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
  • Develop robust budgeting processes and forecasting models.
  • Design and implement KPI frameworks to measure business performance.
  • Lead the development of complex financial models for strategic initiatives.
  • Team Leadership & Governance

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the Executive Committee.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification (CFA preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 8 years in senior financial roles.
  • Proven expertise in M&A transactions, private equity, and post-merger integration.
  • Industry roll-up experience within an acquisitive private equity environment.
  • Expertise in financial modeling and Excel.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (preferably NetSuite).
  • Proficiency in business intelligence and data analytics tools.
  • Strong strategic mindset with business acumen.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to lead complex change initiatives.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Reporting & Location

  • Reports directly to the CEO.
  • Member of the Executive Committee.
  • Location : Headquarters in Calgary, Alberta.
  • Travel : 5-10% to regional offices and investor / client meetings.
