Sensity has an exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources Team. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this position is seen as the resident expert on the payroll processing software for processing and reporting purposes and will ensure the accurate processing of all employees bi-weekly payrolls. Furthermore, they will support various HR functions, helping to manage the day-to-day tasks of the department.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Accurately calculates and processes bi-weekly payroll in a timely fashion for hourly and salaried staff. Maintains accurate payroll records in compliance with governing standards and as required updates employee bank account changes within the payroll system.
  • Ensures year end processes including WSIB and Employer Health Tax (EHT) annual returns are accurately completed and submitted within timelines.
  • Ensure T4s, are accurately completed, submitted and distributed to employees within timelines.
  • Accurately completes, submits and distributes Records of Employment (ROE). Acts as first point of contact for ROE inquiries.
  • Ensures new hire information is received and completed and follows up for missing information.
  • Enters new employees into the Human Resources Information System.
  • Conduct new team member orientations and facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for new hires.
  • Coordinate and assist with training programs and employee development initiatives.
  • Help organize company events and activities to promote employee engagement.
  • Assist with administration of the employee benefit and pension programs.
  • Prepares employment related documents such as offers of employment and employment verification letters.
  • Conducts exit interviews.
  • Sends out the annual employee engagement survey.
  • On a quarterly basis work with the CAO on updated metrics and KPI's.
  • Support the recruitment team as needed.
  • Performs other duties, as required.
  • Position requirements :

  • Post-secondary education in human resources, payroll administration, finance and / or benefits administration (or equivalent).
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset.
  • 1-3 years of payroll processing experience, including experience processing ROE's.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in Human Resources.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, with a strong client service orientation and relationship building skills. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
  • Solid time management, record keeping, attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • General understanding of HR metrics and the desire to regularly compile information for analysis.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • In-depth knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
