We are currently looking for a Team Lead - Recreation (Youth Drop-In Centre) to join our team of committed professionals. This part-time position within the Association is housed at the YMCA of Northeastern Ontario’s Durham location in Sudbury.

Under the leadership of the General Manager of Camping and Youth Leadership, the Team Lead - Recreation (Youth Drop-In Centre) is responsible for executing the planning and development of programs and services according to YMCA policies, procedures, and standards and ensuring participant satisfaction.

START DATE : As soon as possible

LOCATION : Sudbury, ON

RATE OF PAY : $20.00 per hour

HOURS : 25 hours per week

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to staff and participants during the program delivery schedule
  • Coordinate and schedule activities, programs, and special events
  • Respond to inquiries regarding programs promptly
  • Be a positive role model for all program participants and staff
  • Participate in recruitment and hiring process including job postings, interviews, and reference checks
  • Provide leadership in staff onboarding, including orientation, training, and mentorship
  • Ensure that all Association safety standards are met or exceeded
  • Management of course creation, registration, and waitlists
  • Ensure all relevant paperwork is completed in a timely manner including attendance sheets & sign in / out
  • Build relationships with members and guests, and promote the YMCA as a charitable organization

Qualifications

  • Possession of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
  • for education completed outside of Canada, applicants are required to submit a WES with their application
  • Post-secondary education in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a leadership role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR C
  • Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
  • Current and satisfactory Police Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
