PFC Flexible Circuits Limited, a division of OSI Electronics, is seeking an SMT Operator who will operate, set up, and monitor SMT equipment to assemble flexible printed circuits (FPC) and rigid-flex assemblies per controlled work instructions, travelers, and quality requirements. This includes automated and semi-automated stencil printers, pick-and-place equipment, reflow ovens, solder paste inspection processes, AOI units, and X-Ray equipment.
This individual will support day shift operations (7:30am - 4:00pm).
Responsibilities- Operate pick-and-place units (e.g., Panasonic AM, BM, and NPM/NPG as applicable) by loading and verifying programs, validating pick and placement, responding to alarms, and maintaining throughput and placement quality.
- Set up and operate SMT stencil printers by installing and verifying stencil type and thickness, aligning to fiducials, setting print parameters (squeegee pressure/speed and separation/snap-off), and completing first-print approvals.
- Set up feeders and materials by staging and verifying components to the BOM and traveler, loading feeders/tape-and-reel, verifying polarity/orientation, performing required feeder checks, and maintaining feeder and lot traceability.
- Operate AOI and X-Ray inspection equipment as needed by executing programs, verifying coverage, dispositioning findings per criteria, and coordinating defect review and rework routing with Quality/Engineering.
- Manage solder paste and print quality by differentiating and properly handling water-soluble versus no-clean pastes, verifying lot/expiration and storage/conditioning, performing paste print inspection (e.g., coverage, bridging, smearing, and insufficient paste), and correcting out-of-control conditions.
- Perform cleaning and basic upkeep by completing stencil underside wipes/cleaning, printer checks, and line/tooling cleaning using approved chemicals and disposal methods.
- Troubleshoot SMT line issues by clearing stoppages/alarms, performing basic checks and adjustments within training, documenting downtime, and escalating to Maintenance/Engineering as needed.
- Set up and operate Heller reflow ovens by selecting and verifying recipes, confirming conveyor width/speed and zone temperatures, monitoring output, identifying reflow defects (e.g., insufficient wetting, solder balling, tombstoning, and voiding indicators), and escalating issues as needed.

QualificationsHigh school diploma desired.
Experience with SMT line operating including stencil printers and pick-and-place equipment within a manufacturing environment desired.
Ability to read and follow travelers, work instructions, basic assembly drawings, and BOMs desired.
Basic understanding of SMT process flow including print/place/reflow/inspect desired.
Must have strong attention to detail and ability to recognize common SMT defects; willingness to stop work and escalate abnormalities.
Manual dexterity and careful handling skills for thin and delicate flexible circuits, pallets, and support tooling required.
Must be a team player.
Basic computer skills to enter data and retrieve instructions and tracking tools required.
Ability to lift up to 25lbs without assistance.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively using the business language (English).
Pay may range from $17.60 to $17.60 hourly
