About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician for freelance/contract work in Kamloops, Canada. This is an on-site position supporting mission-critical infrastructure at premier data center facilities.

Compensation

C$26-36/hr (CAD hourly)

Rates vary based on experience level and project complexity. Emergency and after-hours work may qualify for premium rates.

Engagement Type

  • Contract/Freelance basis

  • Remote hands and smart hands services

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations

  • Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)

  • Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling

  • Perform cross-connects and patch panel work

  • Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues

  • Document all work with photos and detailed notes

  • Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams

  • Data center or IT infrastructure experience

  • Server hardware and networking knowledge

  • Reliable and professional with strong communication

  • Proximity to local data center facilities

  • Flexible schedule for on-call/emergency work
